New Orleans Trip
Jeremy Lyons is very excited to be heading back to New Orleans for some shows in the beginning of February. Joining him on the trip will be Jerome Deupree and Dana Colley, the former Members of Morphine and Jeremy's partners in "The Ever-Expanding Elastic Waste Band." (This is the group's second time playing in New Orleans, and their first since adding Morphine tunes and new, original songs and improvised jams to the show.) The trio will be appearing on air at WWOZ at 3pm on Friday, February 5, on The Problem Child's show. (Listen to live streaming here.) That night, the Elastic Waste Band will be appearing at dba on Frenchmen St at 10pm. Dana, Jeremy and Jerome also have plans to do some recording at Piety Street Studios with renowned engineer/producer (and old pal) Mark Bingham in New Orleans, adding local horns to a couple of tracks recorded recently at HI N DRY studios in Somerville, MA. (Check out a rough mix of their version of Sandman's "Pulled Over the Car" here.)

Sunday, February 7 will be an historic and VERY exciting day for the Crescent City, as it will be the first time the New Orleans Saints play in the Super Bowl! Jeremy Lyons & the Deltabilly Boys (yes -- the classic line up w Schatzy on standup bass and Paul Santopadre on drums) will play a POST-GAME PARTY at dba. No cover. Show starts after 10pm.

Two days later on Tuesday, February 9, Jeremy and Greg "Schatzy" Schatz will reprise their "Deltabilly Duo" act -- a combination of the old acoustic blues and hokum they played together in the Big Mess Band on the streets of the French Quarter in the 1990s, plus originals by both Lyons & Schatz. Jeremy and Greg held down a long-standing residency at the Spotted Cat on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans before Katrina, and since then have brought their act to stages in New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and back to Louisiana. (Schatz and Lyons have been collaborating now for nearly 25 years!)

Other news
Dana, Jeremy and Jerome have held down their Wednesday night residency at Atwood's Tavern since September of 2009. The shows have drawn great crowds, and the band has been pushing the envelope, playing long sets, "morphing" the old songs into improvised, psychedelic jams. A new song of Jeremy's, "Different," was recorded recently by the group. Jeremy wrote the song during his bout with pneumonia in October of '09, along with others, including "When I'm Feeling Better." Both have been pleasing crowds at recent shows.

New Management
Jeremy Lyons is very pleased to announce his new partnership with Brenda Prescott, of Brenda Prescott Coordinates, LLC. Brenda and Jeremy are currently planning a strategy that will help bring deltabilly to a wider audience. The team is focusing on all aspects of Jeremy's career: solo and band presentations of new, original songs; music for children and families; The Deltabilly Boys and Bright Moments; collaborations with Members of Morphine... and more! The Elastic Waste Band (Members of Morphine w/Jeremy Lyons)
Jeremy Lyons, Dana Colley and Jerome Deupree together are "Members of Morphine: the Elastic Waste Band." They perform songs by the late Morphine-frontman Mark Sandman, as well as their own brand of "psycho-delta blues." In July of 2009, Jeremy, Dana and Jerome performed at Nel Nome Del Rock Festival in Palestrina, Italy, ten years to the day after Mark passed away on that very same stage. The trio include two-third of the original line-up of the seminal Boston-based progressive rock band, the two who backed Sandman up on their debut record Good and the band's break-out follow-up, Cure for Pain. Jeremy plays electric guitar and a version of Sandman's own 2-string slide bass. The trio is beginning a residency at Atwood's Tavern in East Cambridge, MA, and will be heading into the recording studio soon.

The Bright Moments
Since emmigrating to the Northeast, Jeremy's primary bassist has been "Washtub" Robbie Phillips. Recently dubbed "the Bright Moments," Jeremy & Robbie perform either as an acoustic duo or in a power trio with one of a number of top drummers (Jerome Deupree, Sean Mannion, Jeff Allison, Rob Rudin, etc). The acoustic show features Jeremy on National slide guitar and 6-string banjo, and Robbie on his upright 1-string "wombat" bass, built from a tall drum. For the trio, Jeremy plays electric guitars and an electric 4-string diddley bo of Robbie's design. Robbie plays a homemade 1-string or 2-string electric bass diddley bow. The electric Bright Moments feature a wide variet of roots music, including blues, classic country and hillbilly, rockabilly, and instrumental surf and Western Swing guitar numbers.

Private Functions or Events

Jeremy Lyons is available to play at private functions. Either of his bands "The Bright Moments" (in the Northeast) or "The Deltabilly Boys" (in Louisiana) make a great alternative to the regular wedding cover band or (gasp) DJ, performing for example soft swing and blues for the dinner hour, and more energetic danceable numbers later in the party. Jeremy has performed at over a dozen weddings, and countless private parties. Available in acoustic or electric format, and priced to fit your budget!

Jeremy Lyons has entertained thousands on the streets of the Crescent City, armed with no more than his voice and National guitar. His band the Deltabilly Boys, a favorite of the New Orleans club circuit, has toured Europe and the US, and released six critically acclaimed albums. Whether performing solo or with a band, Jeremy is never lacking for sound, presence, or
