| THE DELTABILLY BOYS RIDE AGAIN!!! |
|
|
|
First let me say that I had a great trip back home in New Orleans. Saw lots of great friends (I didn't know I had so many), and played some music with old pals. Thank you to all living and working in New Orleans -- trying to make it work. You're fighting the good fight, and I think of you every day.
But now the real news:Greg Schatz, Paul Santopadre (a.k.a.: the Deltabilly Boys) and myself will FINALLY be REUNITED for four shows in Cambridge this month. The dates and venues are listed below. There will be an invitation-only Live Concert Recording at Hi-N-Dry studio (the former home studio of Morphine’s Mark Sandman) on March 18. Audience members will receive a complimentary CD of the evening. Seating for this event is limited; if you would like to purchase tickets, please email me at jeremy@deltabilly.com ASAP.
Paul, Greg and I played well over a thousand shows together from August 1997 until August 2005. Sometimes five or more gigs a week. The three of us have not played a note together since August 11. Since the Hurricane, without those guys, there has been a void in my musical life. But I have met and played with many talented and inspired players in the Boston area, most of whom I hope will be joining us to celebrate and sit in at Hi-N-Dry. Surely Dana Colley and Jerome Deupree of Morphine and I hope members of Treat Her Right and Session Americana as well.
Jeremy Lyons & the Deltabilly Boys will be playing: Thursday, March 16 at TOAD, Porter Square, Cambridge, MA Friday, March 17, opening for The Bad Saints at The Lizard Lounge, Cambridge Saturday, March 18: Private Concert Recording at Hi-N-Dry Studios, Cambridge Sunday, March 19, The Phoenix Landing, Central Square, Cambridge Saturday, May 6: THE NEW ORLEANS JAZZ & HERITAGE FESTIVAL Saturday, May 6: DBA, NEW ORLEANS, 8-11pm, opening for Little Freddy King
Check the gigs page for more details and shows.
Peace and Prosperity to you all.

Hello Friends;
Just a quick note.
Greg Schatz and I will be returning to New Orleans for one show (as the Deltabilly Boys) at One Eyed Jacks on Saturday, February 18, and Greg will be leading Schatzy at Mimi's in the Marigny on the two Mondays preceding Mardi Gras (2/20 and 2/27).
For those of you in New England, I will be starting a new residency this month. Every Sunday after the Super Bowl (except 2/19) I will perform at the Phoenix Landing in Central Square (Mass Ave between Brookline and Pearl) from 5 to 9. I will have a rotating band membership. The shows are ALL AGES, which means you can bring the kids!
I also have appearances at the Tupelo Music Hall and the Cantab Lounge in Massachusetts. Check the gigs calendar for details.
Hope to see you!

Just a quick note.
Greg Schatz and I had a blast playing in Tivoli and Rosendale, NY with former Morphine drummer Jerome Deupree. It was good to play with Greg and crank out some real, HIGH-TEST DELTABILLY! Greg is doing fairly well in Brooklyn, playing a lot with Jan Bell, and New Orleans' Alex McMurray, among others.
Greg and I are both looking forward to returning to New Orleans during Carnival to play at One Eyed Jacks (formerly the Shim Sham) on February 18! Please come on out.
PRESS: The Cambridge Chronicle ran a piece on my January residency at TOAD: http://www.townonline.com/entertainment/view.bg?articleid=404458 Unfortunately the writer didn't think it was necessary to attend the gig (or even listen to tunes off the website), but there it is.
Thank you all for your continued support. Events are being added to the calendar, so check the website regularly, especially if you are in the North East.

| Season's Deltabilly Greetings |

Dear Friends;
Well, it's been over four months since a Deltabilly Boys gig, and it'll be at least another two months till another one, so I guess it's safe to say that we're "on a break."
Greg Schatz has been living in New York City, picking up gigs with various artists. He will be joining me at the d.b.a. in New Orleans (!) Friday, December 30 at 10 or 11 pm (with New Orleans Klezmer All Stars drummer Dave Sobell). Also, we will be playing a couple of gigs together in upstate New York: The Rosendale Café (in Rosendale), and the Black Swan in Tivoli, January 13 and 14, respectively.
Paul Santopadre has been too busy working at his brother's bakery and resettling in Lebanon, New Hampshire to commit to any gigs in the near future.
I have been picking up some work here in Cambridge, Massachusetts and the area, namely a January residency, Tuesdays at TOAD in Porter Square. Check the website calendar for complete listings: http://www.mojono.com/cgi-bin/calendar/calendar.pl?dept=jl I have found a lot of good players here in the Boston area, so at least now I have some mates to play with again. :)
Happy Holidays, and here's to a better New Year, Dammit!
Peace,
Jeremy Lyons http://www.deltabilly.com

Shortly there after, on November 30th, Jeremy will perform with Deltabilly Boys drummer Paul Santopadre at the Press Room in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, at 9 pm.
