| Western Tour/New Recordings (from 02/17/04) |
The Deltabilly Boys and I will be taking two weeks to play a number dates from New Orleans to Colorado in March. We'll be in Lafayette, Dallas, Austin, the Denver/Boulder area (for a number of dates), Witchita, KS, St Louis, and Little Rock. (Check the "gigs" page on our website for venues and details.)
We have also been having a lot of fun in the studio. Greg is getting ready to release the second "Schatzy!" CD, recorded at Piety St and at the Truck Farm. (It sounds great!) And Paul and Greg and I have been working with engineer Andrew "Goat" Gilchrist at his new home studio in the 9th Ward. It will be my first entire album of original material, and is being recorded with mostly acoustic instruments.
Lastly, we hope that those of you who are in town for Jazz Fest will be able to see us at the New Orleans Fairgrounds on Friday, April 23rd in the Blues Tent at around 12:30 in the afternoon.
Thanks for enjoying the music. Peace and prosperity to us all.

| Western tour planned for spring 2004 (from 08/09/03) |
| As we in New Orleans sweat out another humid summer, ever aware of the threat of hurricane and flood, we think of cooler times, and cooler climes. Yet I'm afraid the Deltabilly Boys will not be making a Northern tour this summer. However, plans are in the works for a sojourn as far west as Colorado in March, with possible dates en route there and back. Stay tuned for updates. |

| Spring time: Jazz Fest, new CD finally here (from 05/02/03) |
Well, I write this as the second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival continues at the New Orleans Fairgrounds. The Boys and I played last Friday at the Blues Tent to an enthusiastic, packed house. Definately one of the best shows we've put on this year, and possibly our tightest, most relaxed Jazz Fest (this is our fourth).
We are happy to announce the release (at last) of "Live at the Dragon's Den," recorded on a Monday in March of 2001. The CD cover was beautifully put together by Andrea Garland, with photos once again from Shannon Brinkman. Even though this is a live CD, most of the songs have not been on previous CDs, except for a few from the now-out-of-print "Deltabilly Swing." Check it out on our CDs page. Check our calender for live shows, including CD release parties at the Dragon's Den and the Louisiana Music Factory. This is a good CD, folks -- Paul Santopadre even said HE likes it! |

| Happy New Year (from 12/24/02) |
I write this the day after a rip-roaring show at El Matador, the last show for the three Deltabilly Boys for 2002. Greg Schatz will be on vacation from Xmas eve to New Years Eve, and Paul & I will hold down the fort at El Matador without him, inviting New Orleans new-comer John Trahey to play some slap bass with us in Greg's stead. John has put together a new Chicago-style rockabilly band (complete with saxaphone) called the Rockin' Bluetones, with which I will be performing on Bourbon Street for a few shows. Paul will be joining us for one of these on the 27th of December. (See our gigs calender for full listings.) We continue our acoustic shows at The Spotted Cat, and Schatzy and the Deltabilly Boys continue our regular schedule at The Seaport as well.
Anyway, a happy new year to all. |

| Happy Holidays (from 12/03/02) |
It's getting chilly in New Orleans, and people are obviously trying to save their pennies for the holidays, for gig attendance has been low. The schedule is a bit lighter, with no shows in Houma this month and only one at the Rock 'n' Bowl. I had hoped that with the free bowling and shoes, we might get a good regular following on Tuesdays in Mid City, but John Blancher in his infinate wisdom has decided to spread the wealth around, and Tuesdays will be dedicate to bringing "retro" sounds by various artists. Can't blame him -- he stuck with us the whole summer. Bless his heart. The spotted Cat I think has real potential for us. I hope that we might land a later slot, as it seems that the crowd just gets filled out as it's time for us to wind down on Friday nights. Great place. Paul and I will do two of these gigs with Greg and two as a duo this month. And Schatzy has picked up a happy hour slot at the Seaport on New years eve.
Remember, folks: CDs make great stocking stuffers!
